一家外資品牌奶粉的工作人員透露，這其實是一種行銷策略，也就是不斷推出所謂的"高端"、"超高端"等特製高價奶粉。雖然很多外資奶粉品牌都號稱根據中國人的飲食習慣和體質添加了鋅、鐵等成分，但這些添加成本實際上微乎其微，更多的是一種市場包裝。
